Many people already know French toast, but a topping with peanut butter refines the taste and gives the whole thing a very special touch.
So here is our little secret recipe for a successful sweet breakfast. This is how we would like to start each day.
2 slices of toast (or Striezl)
50 ml cream
50 ml of milk
1 EL sugar
a pinch of salt
- Mix the cream with the milk, sugar, egg and a pinch of cinnamon with a whisk until creamy.
- Dip the bread slices in the milk mixture and fry in a tablespoon of butter in the pan until crispy.
- Garnished with fresh berries and a large spoonful of peanut butter.
PS: This recipe is also a great way to use bread that is no longer fresh.
